As part of our assemblies we learnt all about the story of Saint George. As this assembly was a remote assembly we used a short video to share the story with the younger children.

In Flanders Fields

As part of our commemoration of Remembrance Day we discussed the First World War and the poem " In Flanders Fields" and then listened to a reading of the poem.

Winnie Pooh goes in search of Woozles

Winnie the Pooh has been a childhood favourite for generations. Originally created in 1926, his stories have sparked wholesome, honey-loving, childhood dreams for nearly a century. The Wisdom of Geese

During our assemblies on teamwork and respect and tolerance we watched this video called the Wisdom of Geese. We found out why the geese fly in a V shape and how they support each other to achieve their team goal.

Derek Redmond

In an assembly on resilience and perseverance we talked about Derek Anthony Redmond (born 3 September 1965). During his career, he held the British record for the 400 metres sprint and won gold medals in the 1991 4x400 metres relay at the World Championships and European Championships. At the 1988 Olympics he pulled out of his heat 90 seconds before he was due to race, and before the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona he had undergone eight operations due to injuries but he wanted to run at the Olympics.

The Perseverance of Barn Swallows

As part of work thinking about resilience and perseverance we watch a short film about the Barn Swallows who migrate from South Africa to northern Europe and how their determination and perseverance carries them home each year.

To mark Black History month we spent our time in school looking at tremendous achievements by different people that changed history. As part of this work we learnt about Rosa Parks and her story.
